Description
Stage 24 via Francigena Arrival of pilgrims in Piazza San Giorgio for Francigena stamping. Beginning of the tour of Sarzana, a small town in the heart of the Val di Magra that, since ancient times, has always been a religious, commercial and judicial center of great importance, and of its two Fortresses (Firmafede and Sarzanello) passing through Via Mazzini and Via San Francesco. Tasting and explanation of Spongata di Sarzana a typical dessert made with short pastry, dried fruit and honey prepared for the holidays, or Farinata, a savory Ligurian cake with ancient origins and made with the use of chickpea flour, extra virgin olive oil, water and salt.
