Setting sail aboard a sailboat from La Spezia's Mirabello harbor or from the Marina di Carrara Club Nautico, you'll reach the Gulf of Poets, a destination beloved by English romantics poets such as Virginia Woolf, Lord Byron, Mary & Percy Shelley, and D. H. Lawrence, admiring from the sea the small villages of Lerici, Tellaro, Fiascherino, and Portovenere.

Setting sail aboard a sailboat from La Spezia's Mirabello harbor or the Marina di Carrara Club Nautico, you'll sail along the coast of the Cinque Terre admiring the famous colorful villages that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, where you can snorkel in the protected area known as the "Cetacean Sanctuary."

**Stage 24 via Francigena**
Arrival of pilgrims in Piazza San Giorgio for Francigena stamping. Beginning of the tour of Sarzana, a small town in the heart of the Val di Magra that, since ancient times, has always been a religious, commercial and judicial center of great importance, and of its two Fortresses (Firmafede and Sarzanello) passing through Via Mazzini and Via San Francesco. Tasting and explanation of Spongata di Sarzana a typical dessert made with short pastry, dried fruit and honey prepared for the holidays, or Farinata, a savory Ligurian cake with ancient origins and made with the use of chickpea flour, extra virgin olive oil, water and salt.

Sail aboard our boat and prepare to sail into the Gulf of Poets, a wide and deep inlet of the Ligurian Sea that has enchanted poets and writers since the 19th century. 
Our cruise will take you to discover the picturesque seaside villages that dot the gulf. We will visit Fezzano, with its pastel-coloured houses overlooking the sea, Cadimare, renowned for its shipyards, and Le Grazie, a fishing village with an enchanting view of the gulf. 
We will continue towards Porto Venere, an ancient fishing village perched on a promontory and dominated by the Church of San Pietro. In front of Porto Venere we will admire the three islands Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto, an archipelago of rare beauty that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. 
 We then sail to Lerici, a medieval village located at the eastern end of the gulf. Dominated by the Castle of San Giorgio, Lerici offers evocative views and an enchanting atmosphere. After visiting the small village and discovering its wonders, you will be able to stop for lunch in the main square, Piazza Garibaldi, in a typical Ligurian restaurant. After lunch, you can sit back on board and enjoy the marvellous landscape that unfolds before your eyes: a fascinating succession of caves, deep gorges, hidden coves, forests and picturesque seaside villages nestled between the rocks and the crystal clear sea. 
In the afternoon, the cruise will continue along the coast, offering breathtaking views. You will admire caves, deep gorges, hidden coves and forests overlooking the crystal clear sea. Amazing tour with tastings and sea views accompanied by a bicycle tour guide. We will cycle through fabulous places, taste Ligurian excellences and enjoy spectacular views from the top towards the sea and from the sea towards the 5 Terre. Departing from Portovenere or La Spezia, we will climb to Monte la Castellana, enjoying splendid views of the entire bay of La Spezia. Set out to discover Tuscany's most famous cities of art: Florence and Pisa. Accompanied by one of our experienced tour leaders, aboard a comfortable coach, you will reach Florence, the famous city and capital of Tuscany. Free time at leisure to visit the historic center and its renowned monuments such as: Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio (now the seat of the Florentine municipality), the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with Brunelleschi's dome, its Baptistery and Giotto's Bell Tower, Ponte Vecchio with its jewelry stores.

Departure from Monterosso 
Along the route you will discover the natural coastline, the historic villages between Monterosso and Riomaggiore that are only visible by sea.
Immediately after Riomaggiore, the first of the 5 Terre, we will take a second swim near a beautiful small bay.
We will explore the five villages by boat slowly so that we can take beautiful photos.
We will stop for the third time near Corniglia to explore a small cave, take a dive off the cliff and have an aperitif on the boat.

Meeting of participants with the tour leader at the National Museum of Transportation established in 1986 with the aim of safeguarding trolleybus and railway vehicles: trolleybuses, steam, diesel and electric locomotives, and freight wagons from the 19th century, some of which are still in working order and used for special events. At the end of the visit, we will continue to the Rimembranza Park, opened in 1923 on Gaggiola Hill is included in the FAl project assets. Each of its 540 trees, cypresses, oaks, pines, limes and laurels, was dedicated to a La Spezia Fallen of the Great War, with a plaque bearing the name placed on a spear driven into the ground in front of each plant. It was renovated in 2021 and reopened to the public with new games for children and is a livable green lung in total safety, in which water turtles and free roaming bunnies can be observed. Afterwards, walk through the historic centre along Via Prione and snack at the city's historic pizzeria.

We will cross the Gulf of Poets to admire the picturesque seaside villages of its coastline. The first stop will be Porto Venere, with its jagged coastline, rocky caves, the church of San Pietro, the caruggi (typical narrow streets of seaside villages), the sea-calley and the walls of the Doria castle.
Next, we will reach the 5 Terre: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso, admiring them from a privileged perspective. These five villages suspended between land and sea, surrounded by vineyards and rocks, are truly magical places, rich in colours, flavours, images, sounds and materials that are unique in the world. You will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Vernazza on your own and, if you wish, stop for lunch in a typical Ligurian restaurant. The captain will be waiting for you on board.
On the way back, you can admire Monesteroli, a small fishing village that can only be reached from the sea or via a very steep flight of 2,200 stone steps. Furthermore, on the left, you will see the historic Byron cave dedicated to the English poet Lord Byron and have another fantastic view of Porto Venere.

Carrara city of art and famous for its workshops has become part of UNESCO cities since 2018. The tour will begin in Piazza Gramsci, one of the emblematic squares of Carrara, a Tuscan town nestled in the Apuan Alps and the world capital of marble.

We will then sail to Lerici, a medieval village located at the eastern end of the gulf. Dominated by the Castle of San Giorgio, Lerici offers evocative views and an enchanting atmosphere. After visiting the small village and discovering its wonders, you will be able to stop for lunch in the main square, Piazza Garibaldi, in a typical Ligurian restaurant. After lunch, you can sit back on board and enjoy the marvellous landscape that unfolds before your eyes: a fascinating succession of caves, deep gorges, hidden coves, forests and picturesque seaside villages nestled between the rocks and the crystal clear sea. 
In the afternoon, the cruise will continue along the coast, offering breathtaking views. You will admire caves, deep gorges, hidden coves and forests overlooking the crystal-clear sea. In some unspoilt coves you will have the chance to take a refreshing dip and discover the beautiful backdrops of the gulf.
